Vulnerability scanners are great tools used used by offence and defense. They are essential for identifying vulnerabilities that could be used by malicious groups or people to compromise systems and data.
There are multiple types vulnerability scanners, for example: network, web application, host-based, and more. Depending what you are scanning for will determine what type of scanner you use. For example, if you're going after web applications, you may want to use BurpSuite. If you want to scan hosts, you want to use Nessus.
